So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Vilmos Zsigmond on January 1st, here shown on the left. Vilmos was one of my all time favorite cinematographers. I followed his career since McCabe and Mrs. Miller, although The Deer Hunter, Close Encounters, and The Rose weren't too bad either.

I was fortunate to work with him for a couple of days when he was in Palo Alto, California working on a documentary about Edward Teller for Hungarian Television.

Vilmos was a huge influence of my use of color and my method of coverage totally changed after a few short days with him.
