"Yea, all which it inherit - shall dissolve, and like this insubstantial pageant faded, leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff as dreams are made on - and our little life is rounded with a sleep." Tempest Act 4 William Shakespeare

MAN, HE WAS ONE OF THE GREAT ONES

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Vilmos Zsigmond on January 1st, here shown on the left. Vilmos was one of my all time favorite cinematographers. I followed his career since McCabe and Mrs. Miller, although The Deer Hunter, Close Encounters, and The Rose weren't too bad either.

I was fortunate to work with him for a couple of days when he was in Palo Alto, California working on a documentary about Edward Teller for Hungarian Television.

Vilmos was a huge influence of my use of color and my method of coverage totally changed after a few short days with him.

Pictured above with camera operator Marty Collins on the campus of Stanford University.

Top photo was shot with my OM-1 with Kodak film.

Thanks for stopping by.
