MEL AND FERNANDO

Mel Casas was a Chicano artist, activist, writer, and teacher who taught at San Antonio College. Some of his brilliant colorful work entitled, The Southwestern Cliches, is on display at the Educational and Cultural Arts Center.

Mr. Casas' paints, canes, boxes of his favorite cigars and hat.

SAN FERNANDO CATHEDRAL is located at the Main Plaza. Every night the front facade is lit up by projected beams in an animated spectacular light show created by French artist Xavier DeRichemont.

This is just one snap, one second of a barrage of images. The 24 minute show has hundreds of visuals constantly changing to an eclectic selection of music. The show starts at nine and repeats three times.

This is me playing around with the zoom and color temperatures to create my own version of the show.

The finale -  again with my own personal twist. The lights are always
solid like the first image, I just had some fun with in-camera tweaks.
All images made with the Nikon D80.
